Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: On the way out I took Black Pond Bushwhack and only did the latter two of the more significant crossings. Both were done easily with rock hopping and would have been even easier with poles for stability. On the way back I went over to Franconia Brook trail to check out the two more signifcant crossings. Lincoln Brook was pretty easy but Franconia Brook was a bit more difficult, had to go about 100 feet downstream to find a decent place to cross but ultimately it was completed with rock hopping.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Trails were generally in decent condition

Comments
Comments: Started up Lincoln Woods trail, there some mud but it mostly pretty solid and easy to walk through. Black Pond bushwhack was fairly easy to follow. Lincoln woods trail had a handful of rough areas with mud and water but nothing too bad. Like I mentioned water crossings were easy. Slide up owls head was not bad, compared to the slides on the Tripyramids the owls head slide is a walk in the park. Some small spots of ice on the steep climb up owls head but nothing you can't get around. Once you get up on the ridge all the mud up there was frozen solid which was nice. Small bits of snow and ice up there too. On the way back Brutus bushwhack was easy to follow. Instead of taking Black Pond Bushwhack I crossed over Lincoln brook and took the remainder of Lincoln Brook trail to Franconia Brook trail. Nothing much of note on these guys other than the Franconia Brook crossing was the most challenging of the day to stay dry. All in 18 miles, 6 hours and 3100ft of elevation gain for the day
