Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: (Lincoln Brook Trail adopter) I'd like to thank whomever did some large diameter saw work, and some axe work, on Lincoln Brook. It was quite a few trees. It has funneled people back onto the main trail in some spots. Quick and dirty clearing of about 40-50 of the 74 waterbars. Everything was flowing lovely upon our exit. Took two trees that would be a problem in the winter and invite further herd paths on the summit ridge. Some bars will require more love than I had time allotted today, especially about 5 outflows that could be improved. Noted fresh blazes on Black Pond, and new stepping stone work at the junction of Black Pond/Lincoln Woods

Comments
Comments: A FINE DAY in the forest was had. This is, from what I have on paper, my twenty ninth owls head summit. Because I am an absolute mental patient. Nothing really of note, there is only one minor patch of avoidable blue ice at ~3800. Black Pond Extension has become more expert mode as its covered in a nice beech leaf blanket. Lincoln Brook is still wet, and will always will be. I blame James Everell Henry. Recent work no longer diverts folks off the trail and down the railroad bed by Camp 12. Thanks to whomever that was again! I would much prefer a lady to make my legs quiver like going up Brutus did, but here we are. Was able to do a tank top to the summit. Warm day, 42 in the valley, 35 up on the summit ridge. Only saw less than ten on the trail, familiar faces on the way out. We made it back to the car like a rocket sled on rails. Congrats to Lil Squirt - that's 12x12 for Owl's!
