| Comments: |
This started off with a bit of slush snow over lots of slippery leaves. Increased to only a couple inches of snow. Slightly icy on the rocks at the viewpoint before Noon Peak and the rock stretches after. From Noon Peak towards Jennings there were serious puddles and muddy spots under the easily broken ice. It'll probably take a bit for it to freeze completely in the deeper areas so beware of breaking through. Bog boards look sketchy but didn't shift and did their job. Ledges on Jennings Peak were the most ice I'd seen all day. Drake's Brook Trail was only mildly slippery in the rain. Managed to bare boot this hike, though if I came down Sandiwch Mtn trail (instead of Drake's Brook trail) I probably would have put them on for a bit of that descent. I imagine this will all freeze up enough to warrant spikes real soon |
