| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Pull off parking on Rt 16. There's a trailhead of course but this is easy to drive by especially with the southern trailhead just 0.3mi down the road. Only one other car when we arrived around 11am and returned at 1pm. |

| Surface Conditions: |
Dry Trail, Ice - Black, Wet Trail, Wet/Slippery Rock, Mud - Minor/Avoidable, Mud - Significant |

| Recommended Equipment: |

|
| Water Crossing Notes: |
The crossing of Imp Brook was readily rock hopable though perhaps a slight challenge for those with short legs. |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Other than a few very faded yellow blazes down low, I don't think that the trail is blazed. I don't recall any blowdowns but as I'm fond of saying, that doesn't mean there weren't any! |

| Dog-Related Notes: |
Hiking dogs should be fine. Steep but no real scrambling. |

A great hike for the CCC's 52WAV before a dear friend's redline finish :) A HUGE congratulations to her ascent of this peak; to say I'm proud would be an understatement.
The trail starts off gradually enough with some minor PUDS along the brook but becomes steeper after crossing the brook, then, after a section of reprieve, becomes very steep again as it angles up the NW slope. Lots of erosion, less than ideal footing, and steep but no real scrambling. Lots of leaves down, mostly dry, and some mud. No need for microspikes at the time (this has likely since changed) but there were a few small spots of black ice on rocks that you needed to keep a close eye on. Great views from the ledges as always. Didn't see anyone! Gaia had us at about 4.2mi, 1750ft of gain, 1hr53min. 1hr-1hr5min up, 10min at the summit, 40-45min down. |
