Comments
Comments: Welch Dickey Loop hike was mostly dry from the sunshine up until getting below the Mt. Welch summit, going counter-clockwise. From below the summit through being back below treeline after summiting Mt Dickey and walking the ridge loop down, we wore microspikes, and they were helpful on wet spots and standing ice on angled rocks. I definitely recommend carrying spikes from here on out when visiting Welch Dickey, at your own discretion if you use them. We could have made it without, but, it was much easier throwing them on and not thinking about our traction on the thin ice.
