Well, I was supposed to go out to owls head, but decided on a shorter and quicker hike heading to the kinsmans. I was not shocked that I was the only one in the parking lot when I parked around 730. I was surprised that there was no snow for about a mile and a half significant that was on trail. Once I got to the junction of bald, and there was Snow and ice going all the way up to the ridge but I was able to get traction and not slip going up without spikes. Once I hit the top of North Kinsman, I didn’t put my spikes on knowing some of the steep dissent over to South Kinsman. I made it over to South where both views were bluebird and very little amount of wind. I made it back to North expecting to see possibly one person but saw no one and headed back down the Kinsman Trail, which by the time I got down back to the parking lot. There was no one there either. Brisk and short day out . |
