Lost and Found
Lost and Found: I found about 10 small yellow plastic circles with central metal spikes scattered along the way. These appear to be from some apparently very fragile traction device. I threw them in the trash when I got home. If the user is missing them, I would suggest another brand of microspike would work better and “leave no trace”.

Comments
Comments: Well maintained. Trail below Dickey ledges is amazingly well constructed with many stone steps.

Ascending Welch went well with minimal or easily avoidable ice on the ledges. There was a short icy stretch by the first ledges where microspikes might have helped, but otherwise I did fine without them. However, the descent from Welch was treacherous and spikes proved very helpful. There were some intermittent patches of ice and bare ground beyond there up to Dickey’s summit and since I had my “rock” spikes I didn’t take them on and off more than a couple times. I missed the star of the “trail” to Dickey’s north ledge, but was able to find it descending over rocks from the summit. The views from the ledge are the best on the loop in my opinion. Descending Dickey was again very icy, but not as bad as those on Welch. As I got down toward the large lower ledges, spikes were no longer necessary.
