Comments
Comments: Beautiful November day for a hike. Success Pond Road is rough in places but any car can make it easily with a bit of swerving to avoid potholes. No snow on the road yet. Trail was snow free for the first half with increasing amounts as you climb, but no more than maybe an inch in the highest elevations. Very icy in spots, however, so microspikes are absolutely necessary here. A couple of steep sections were tricky with the ice. The chimney had a bit of ice but nothing of concern. Tried to head over to see the plane crash site, which was mapped on my GaiaGPS app, but didn't have enough time left in the day to get all the way down to it. Some icy and sketchy parts on that section too.
