Comments
Comments: Out-and-back to the Bonds. Winds were much lower than forecast. Patches of ice and snow appeared after the first water crossing and continued till Mt. Bond, but much of it below 3200' had melted on the return trip. I had spikes with me, but didn't use them; a mile before Bondcliff summit there were some icy flows, but the ice was soft and mostly avoidable. Between Mt Bond and West Bond, the trail was all snow, just a few rocks poking out. The chimney (aka Hillary Step) was dry and clear of ice.
