Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Parking for several cars plus overflow lot a few hundred feet east on a Goose Pond road. There is no parking off route 4 at the start of the class VI road in Enfield. We planted car at rail trail parking at corner of Oak Grove/Main Street, directly across from the Lutheran Church. There is a 3-minute road walk on route 4 required, then you can walk through the old graveyard back to rail trail parking.

Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Carried chainsaw and silky saw and put them to good use, clearing numerous blowdowns, leaners, and smaller branches across the entire ridge. The ridge trail between the AT and the old lodge was a real mess as always but we left it in significantly better shape. This section needs fresh blazing badly-I lose the trail every time I go through there in one particular section where the corridor is near invisible as is the footbed. Planning on going back to blaze this section as I don’t think there’s been an official adopter up there in the 5+ years I’ve been hiking it. There is a new relocation in the flooded section where Pasture Path intersects-appears to have been done in the last few months and is really nice to avoid the swampy area.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Great dog hike. No scrambles. No water on ridge in warmer seasons.

Comments
Comments: Moose Mountain traverse north to south. lucky to have this mountain in my backyard it’s a real gem. Tons of views along the ridge from start to finish, especially with the leaves down. No snow or ice anywhere on this mountain currently. Dan didn’t know we were going to do trail work but he was a real trooper and helped me clean up the 10ish mile track. should be prime for skiing this winter, assuming we get some snow! Only saw 4 people all day, including a friendly pair of ladies who were trail running the entire ridge behind us and caught up at the end. Old pup had a blast today. Great day out avoiding shoulder season ice/snow.
