Perfect day on this great little mountain. Temps were in the 20’s but warmed up to low 30’s for our descent. The road walk to Ledge Trail had a dusting of snow. The bottom of Ledge Trail was lightly snow covered leaves until you get to the slabs and the small scramble to the summit. Some patches of hard ice but was avoidable through to the summit. Awesome views of Madison and Mt Washington. The buildings were visible today. We brought our spikes but never put them on. The boardwalk to Chapel Rock was snow covered & slippery. Lunch at Chapel Rock was perfect with views of the Carters and well into Maine. Such a pleasant day on this great little mountain. |
