| Comments: |
Started OBP with minor snow and ice. Put micros on beneath lower overlooks. The troublesome icy spots on OBP were easily avoidable or had light snow overlaying. Above treeline exposed rock, light snow & icy. No real issues. Down FW was challenging at top where trail is ice flow for about 0.1 mile. Could use crampons here, but careful side to side clutching of trees “fine”. FW water crossings & falls area was also challenging with light ice cover over slab. Was after dark & went off trail a bit to find dry spots.
Overall beautiful day with variable conditions that kept me engaged. Snow is coming!
