| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Someone gets to have a saw party on the Carter Dome Trail in the spring (please invite me!!). Nothing on the CD Trail is urgent. There is a new pesky leaner right at the South Carter summit that will be hard to get under if we get zany amounts of snow this winter. It’s 8” max diameter so a Silky Saw would have an easy time with it. |

| Comments: |
We hiked the loop clockwise, in the order in which the trails are listed. There is crunchy snow over ice on Imp to the junction and then the upper mile is 4-6”+ unpacked powder over ice, so it’s slow going.
The ridge is not packed and is drifted; there is 4-10” snow. There were only a dozen of us ul there today so it got churned but not really packed.
I buried the lead …. Carter Dome Trail is the most fabulous concrete superhighway I have seen in a long time! It’s fantastic!! There must have been loads of people up to Carter Dome!
19MB is packed up top and bony at the bottom, as you would expect.
I had a fantastic day with a friend and her amazing pup!! |
