Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: All easily crossed on rocks. Some of the water runoff crossings haven't froze over yet with a few wet spots on the trail. Farther in snow bridges are forming/formed and held up and felt stable over the smaller runoffs. Though the crossing after the split from Cedar Brook Trail to Hancock Loop has some breakable spots of ice/snow, rocks best for now

Comments
Comments: Hancock Notch Trail is in good condition, starting off with a good few inches of snow - getting nicely packed through to Cedar Brook, a few rocks slightly poking through. A couple pairs of footprints going down Notch trail after the Cedar Brook Trail split; no recent tracks down Cedar Brook from the Hancock Loop split. Trail got a little messier heading up Cedar Brook then to Hancock Loop especially heading up towards North Hancock. Still nicely packed for the most part but the steepness up North with slightly soft snow made for some dips and shifts as expected. Loop Trail to South Hancock was in better packed condition. About 6-9 inches of snow along the top. The descent from South was comical, slipping and sliding until I just finally got the poles out. I wore spikes the whole trek, though the first flat miles could have probably been barebooted as the snow was a little grippy today. Snowshoes would probably be took awkward before the next snowfall. Only passed a few others early on, a beautiful quiet day
