| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Starr King Rd wasn't plowed at the time I arrived and even if it had been I'm not sure my car would have made the slushy trip uphill to the lot. I parked by the gas station about .4 miles way. |

| Comments: |
Broke trail after about .5 miles of slushy snow and leaves. Conditions were pretty good and the snow changed to mostly powder sometime before the spring. I managed to summit Starr King and Waumbek without traction but decided to use the snowshoes on the descent and continued using them for another mile after. Spikes went on for the remainder of the descent as there were some icy spots about half way down that I didn't want to risk bare booting. While it started sloppy, the trail was in good shape, the snow grippy enough, and the summit quite peaceful -just me and a Jay. No views from the partial clearing. Didn't see a single soul. |
