Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: I am the trail adopter and hiked this today to check out the orange string reported to be on Allen’s Ledge. There was no visible orange string on Allen’s Ledge but I did find four trees with orange flagging tape; this was between Willow Rock and the loop junction (so less than 0.6 miles from the loop junction on the east side). I had run into two folks from the USFS in the parking lot when I arrived and asked them; they didn’t know anything about orange string (or any other markings on the UNH Trail) and when I said that I would remove any that I found they thanked me for that. Therefore I was confident to remove the flagging tape as it was not official. Other than that the loop is in great shape and my Silky Saw went for a sad and boring ride. Don’t worry, Silky Saw, there will be blowdowns in the future!

Comments
Comments: We hiked the loop ccw today, so as to stop by Allen’s Ledge first and check for the orange string reported a few days ago (see Trail Maintenance section). We wore light traction for most of the loop as there is ice lurking under the thin layer of snow. We didn’t see anyone else on the loop, today.
