Comments
Comments: Nice day to get above treeline and use all my winter gear. Testing out new boots , and getting used to carrying a heavier pack . Trail starts out mud. slush and soft snow , crossing easy on rocks , spikes worked well while ascending as the snow got deeper and more slippery , too many rocks for snow shoes. After the camp site however the snow increased so I did use my snow shoes all the way to the summit, Franconia ridge had some deep drifts and beautiful fluffy snow so had fun with the snow shoes, there are still rocks so using spikes would be good too. A few more snow storms and things should start to cover up quick. It was fun seeing so many nice hikers :)
