Bare booted up until the hancock loop trail intersection/split (roughly 3400 ft elevation) where I put on snowshoes. There was consistently over a foot of loose powdery snow with drifts over two feet up south hancock and across to north. I bare booted down north hancock which was more of a personal preference. Snowshoes were a little bulky on the way down as light traction or bare boot seemed like the way to go. Only came across two other people today crushing it on the south peak as they were about to head down. Another great day in the mountains. |
