Comments
Comments: 4-12" of fresh fluffy snow on top of some hard packed snow made for a pleasant walk. I wouldn't say snowshoes are needed, but they could be helpful if you like them. Half the time I wished I had worn them, the other half I was glad I wasn't carrying them. A toss up. There isn't enough snow to get ruined by bare-booting.

The snow down low was getting crunchy as I walked out after dark.

Kilkenney Ridge Trail was not tracked south of Bunnell Notch Trail or north of Mt Cabot summit. Unknown Pond Trail was not tracked.
