Took a midday spin around South Uncanoonuc to get some updates for the next SNHTG.
The trails here are mostly dry and bare but there was some mud and small areas of black/blue ice to be mindful of. Nothing that requires traction at the moment though. To be honest, some of these trails will benefit from good snowpack because they are so eroded from heavy use.
A lot of logging has occurred along Kenlaw and on the north side of the mountain in general. This has opened up a few minor views.
I also went up to the fenced-off high point and got as close as I could.
Only saw a few other folks on the trails; several others had driven up and parked at the top of Summit Rd. |
