Comments
Comments: Lots of snow up here! Probably 6” on the ground at the trail head. We donned spikes at the car as the trail was pretty packed, but switched to snowshoes at 1 mile and kept them on until the end. One other hiker wore K-10s or similar the whole hike. The other hiker we met wore Grivels until around the junction with Kilkenny where he was switching to snowshoes. I’ll say that snowshoes weren’t strictly necessary, but I’d much rather wear them than carry them (yay, televators) and the trail is in much nicer shape now. Up on the ridge the snow was around a foot deep.
