Comments
Comments: Bare booted to Imp Face. Snowshoes on shortly after Imp Face, all the way out to Middle Carter and back to Imp Face. Wore microspikes down from Imp Face for some extra grip on the descent but not much ice on the trail, a bit under some snow in spots.

This is the closest I have come to "breaking trail" in snowshoes as the trails beyond Imp Face were not packed and the snow became deeper and fluffier with increased elevation. My initial plan was to go out and back to South Carter but the shoes really slowed my ascent, decided to just go for Middle Carter. There were tracks leading to South Carter but not packed at all. Snowshoes were fun coming back down.

Saw two other hikers with their 2 dogs and they were in spikes.

No tracks seen leading to North Carter from the junction of North Carter and Carter-Moriah trails.
