Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: My front wheel drive Honda Fit w/out snow tires couldn't make it up to the trailhead lot. There is a pretty deep gully (if you have a Honda Fit) right where the main road ends and the trail head access begins preventing me from using momentum...which meant heading back down. In past years there was a lot across the street where you could park, but this is full of rubble now and a sign suggest using the alternate lot, which I took to mean the one right before the gas station and parked there without issues. Time to put on the snow tires I guess...that added .5 miles and 300' of elevation. No overnight parking in that lot.

Comments
Comments: Late start after doing Cabot in the AM, had hoped to finish in the daylight but after not being able to get to the trailhead lot was delayed enough that the plan changed to a sunset hike, which ended up being a pretty good plan. Got back to Starr King after Waumbek just in time to catch the last light on the Presis. Pix in the link below. I barebooted the whole way and never thought the spikes were worth changing into. This finished off my Fall 48.
