This is one of the times of the year in which trails are the most fragile/susceptible to damage from hikers. Opted to stay on a fairly durable trail/road, rather than damage a hiking trail.
Sloppy shoulder season conditions following last night's rain and the melting ground frost. Some areas of collapsing ground frost/mud. Very little snow or ice. Some small patches on the north facing ascent of South.
