Great day for this hike. About 10 degrees when I started and 26 degrees when I finished. No wind, with bright sunny skies. I did the loop C'Clockwise. Middle Mt. Trail was well packed with very little ice. Peaked Mt. Trail was in great shape to the summit. On the back side of Peaked, the trail was a little less consolidated, with some icy patches on the ledges. Spikes worked fine, and the Shoes went along as ballast. The younger of us could easily bare boot the whole loop. Us old timers like to play it safe. Too bad that the expected deluge on Monday will probably mess things up. |
