Comments
Comments: We wore snowshoes the whole time though Valley Way is a little boney down low and it’s packed down enough that spikes could be used. Somebody ahead of us wore spikes to the hut and did a few shallow postholes approaching the top of Valley Way. Above tree line, snowshoes are a must. We began descending Airline and encountered a mess from someone who ascended and descended Airline without snowshoes. Posthole hell. We cleaned it up as much as we could, but ultimately decided to take Scar (even though we had to break trail) over to Valley Way. If you plan to take Airline tomorrow, expect some postholes below Durand Ridge.
