Comments
Comments: The trail is well packed at this point and traction is very good. I worry about the changing conditions after the warm and precip on Sunday. There was a lot of thinly covered ice today that was no problem, but could be treacherous if the snow pack is damaged. We stopped at the view 0.5mi from the summit and were treated with two halos around the sun, a 22° for sure, and I think the rarer 46°. I sent pics to MWObs to confirm. The summit was beautiful and we had bluebird conditions. A few skiers coming up the lifts shared the views from the tower. Beautiful undercast toward the Cannon Balls but clear over to Franconia Ridge. What a day. We finished our NH48 & NE67 with this hike.
