Comments: Hello, is this the Troop F? I'd like to report a burglary! This hiker in pirate leggings totally stole Jefferson for December! Last seen fish tailing down a glorious maintained Base Station Road.... A FINE DAY above the forest was had. Early start from USFS Ammo, conditions where very different on the way out versus in. Had exceptional trail conditions to treeline. This will all change Sunday night but I would imagine to about 3800 will be bare, only about 3" of cover. After the blowdown section at 3800 the snow is nicer. I put snowshoes on at the campsite at about el 4100 and they stayed on until the bridge over Clay Brook upon return. They are very much needed above timber unless you want to posthole (Of which I was doing in spots with snowshoes on). Was happy to have a set of tracks in front of me. Jewell is a bit wonky but the alpine cutoff is tracked out. Gulfside was in pretty good shape. There is a set of tracks that cuts directly across Monticello Lawn. Snow warmed up considerably through the day, but I passed that postholer after noon, I doubt he made any summits. EVERYONE I saw today had snowshoes. Jewell on the way out was an absolute runway. Tree line to car in an hour, and I have little legs, that good! Thankfully I only got peed on and had snow grenades lobbed at me on the way out, it was above 40! Nice undercast was noted to the south through the day
