| Comments: |
Trail for the entire loop is well broken out, but snow is still soft and beach sand consistency , so snowshoes were the perfect tool for ascending North Loop as well as for the col between North, Middle and South. Snowpack is high enough that we had views on our way up north, stunning views at the overlook, and peekaboo views as we trekked to South. Air sharks were in abundance not only at South overlook but also in the Col! Both lookout points are broken out. South descent was sketch sketch sketch and we ended up on our buttoms more than we expected, even when we switched to our Hillsounds Pros. But no blood was shed, so it’s all good. Water crossings were trying to bridge, but with the warmup that went riiiiight out the window, so be prepared, especially after tomorrow’s rain! |
