| Comments: |
Put snow shoes on about 2.5 miles into the hike purely for the benefit of the televators. Nearer the ridge, the snow was deep enough and loose enough that snow shoes made a difference there.
Had planned to go to Flume, but there were only tracks from one person ahead of me and the trail was very loose powder. I lost my footing and slid twice within the first 20 feet and I’m not as familiar with that part of the trail so I decided to turn around. I was there around 9:30; almost every hiker I met on my way down asked about going over to Flume, so I’m sure that some probably did and the conditions were likely different by the afternoon. |
