Amazing day on the trails. Barebooted for 3/4 of a mile in Crawford then strapped on spikes. Packed all the way to Pierce. Got above treeline just as clouds sank and views and undercast were on the menu. Hung out on summit of Pierce and enjoyed the calm and sun. Decided conditions were ripe to get Eisenhower in too. Spikes all the way to the summit. Few drifts were a bit difficult. Summit was a bit winder snapped some pics and enjoyed the view for a few then made our way towards Edmands. Strapped on snowshoes and group behind us did also so trail should be pretty broken out. About a mile in the shoes came off for the day and we spiked it. Long walk out Mount Clinton Road made easier with a beautiful sunset. |
