Comments
Comments: A great day on trail. Lots of tracks up to the first junction but only one set other than mine headed up Carter dome trail. Lots of tracks at the zeta pass area but again only one set headed the way I did (besides mine). Only saw one other person and I met her on the summit of middle Carter briefly. Lower down there was a lot of mud and running water. After the first junction things improved and the snowpack went from trace depth to a more substantial amount. The snow is crusty and if you step off the packed path you will posthole and bruise your shins on said crusty snow. There was a light dusting lower down which also increased in depth as you ascended. 4 or so inches of fresh snow are higher up. Pretty much only had to step through one or two drifts, snowshoes are not necessary. Minimal ice present
