| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
New paved parking lot is fantastic |
|
| Surface Conditions: |
Wet Trail, Ice - Blue, Snow - Packed Powder/Loose Granular, Ice - Breakable Crust, Standing/Running Water on Trail, Snow/Ice - Frozen Granular, Slush |
|
| Recommended Equipment: |
Light Traction |
|
| Water Crossing Notes: |
Rock hoppable, but a little tricky with ice. I carried my pup over ~3 because the water was too high (and obviously not frozen yet) |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Two blowdowns, one above and one below the branch to Webster I believe |
|
| Dog-Related Notes: |
My boy was fine all day except a couple tricky crossings he needed a lift for! Hiking savvy dogs should manage the ledges fine. |

| Comments: |
Snowshoes went for a ride. Lots of water in the trail unsurprisingly, and some boggy sections towards the bottom. Spikes were fine all day, although I wouldn’t have minded a little more traction on the ledges in a couple spots. Beautiful day with surprisingly little wind, although Washington was in the clouds. Someone on the trail mentioned needing snowshoes between Webster and Jackson and there was definitely more fresh powder around 4,000 ft. |
