Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Limited parking at the Forest Service Road gate. Maybe three or four vehicles, depending on how they're parked. The front of the gate was not plowed so I parked in the breakdown lane. Not ideal but the plow trucks were not in use.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Ice - Black, Snow - Trace/Minimal Depth, Snow/Ice - Frozen Granular
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment: Light Traction
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: I took the Forest Service Road to avoid the crossing. A hiker I met said the crossing was sketchy and he had to get his feet wet.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Trail was in pretty shape. I removed branches and debris I found on the Forest Service Road and trail.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Icy ledges, probably not good for the pooch.
Bugs
Bugs: None.

Comments
Comments: Forest Service Road walk was broken thankfully but it still made for a bumpy walk. The trail was snow covered with patches of ice. The ledges were a mixture of bare rock, ice, and snow patches. I wore spikes after I left the Forest Service Road and started hiking the trail. Spikes were mostly needed on the ledges and descending. Only saw 1 hiker today. Great views from the summit. It was a bit windy and with temps around 20, not comfortable to spend lunch on the summit. I went back to the base of the summit cone where it was sunnier and warm.
