Similar to cannon. Very bony down low with ice on the rocks and very little snow. We chose to bareboot and continued barebooting until .1 from the summit. Snow depth remained very minimal the whole way up with no fresh snow or drifting. The trail has seen lots of traffic and is well packed. Just below the summit we switched to spike for the small ledges which were ice covered. We decided to keep spikes on until about .25 from the parking lot. With warm temps snow was balling up in the spikes but spikes were useful for the occasional ice patch that we would encounter from time to time. Again, trails will most likely change over the next couple days but as of now spikes is all that is needed. |
