Unbelievable conditions right now. SO much better than seasons when the rocks are bare. I used micros the whole way and kinda wished I had my full crampons for the descent - they would not have been overkill - there are a couple sketchy footing situations in which I just said to myself, "I'll just put my foot down here" and hoped to stick the footing. Most people probably fine with micros until the next rain event - after which I think I'd want full crampons. Absolutely awesome views. Saw several familiar folks including a former student-- HI ZACH!!!! Anywho, what a great day in NH. NOTE to self: I snowboarded Cannon in the am and it was kinda sketchy icy in a couple of the usual spots - this more than made up for that. |
