Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: We were the only car there for the entire day. Road’s a little slick getting to the parking area from the end of the town maintained portion. It helped to have a 4WD, though you could probably do it without.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Snow - Trace/Minimal Depth, Wet Trail, Ice - Blue, Snow - Packed Powder/Loose Granular, Ice - Breakable Crust, Snow - Unpacked Powder, Standing/Running Water on Trail, Snow/Ice - Frozen Granular, Mud - Minor/Avoidable
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment: Light Traction
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Rocks were icy on the first crossing. Second was an easy rock hop.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Couple of fresh blowdowns between Eastman and Hexacuba including one that could use some attention in the spring. The blazes between the road and Hexacuba could use a refresh.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Ours was the only one out today. (Didn’t see another human until the peak!)

Comments
Comments: Bit bony most of the way. The trail alternated from completely bare to a few inches depending on how much sun a particular patch got. If you’ve got beater spikes, use them. But spikes were definitely worth having. There were several spots with ice falls. Snow was mostly on the wetter side (no surprise given the temps) but there was a stretch higher up that was powdery.

It was a picture perfect day! Only met three other people, all on the peak.
