Comments
Comments: Jewell was soft, non-balling snow and boney until about 1.7 miles from the Ammo lot. Snow got deeper, over toes of boots, and obstacles became fewer then so I put on snowshoes at that point. A group of 5 barebooters made a big mess ahead of me all the way to Gulfside. Above treeline the trail didn’t exactly follow the cairns and a cutoff across the snowfield avoided meeting up to the Gulfside sign. Some thigh high post holes were tricky even with snowshoes and made for slow going in that upper exposed section of Jewell.

Gulfside was a mix of hard packed snow and brief post holed drifts.

On the return trip, myself and two other awesome women made a nice snowshoe track on the above treeline section of Jewell to fix the destruction of the booters.

This report will self destruct later today and tomorrow as some inclement weather arrives.
