Best to go barefoot for as long as you like, especially down low where there is alot of water banks with exposed rocks. Could go the whole way without any traction but once you get to the junction of North and South, you'll appreciate the traction for the ascent or descent of either. Snow/trail conditions are really good; hard packed, a little bumpy between summits from minor postholing. A slide down the South side was optional today. Trails both ways are very grippy, not really icy. Very windy at top but warm enough. No views. A beautiful day to be on the trails. Thank you Fall for a great hiking season! |
