| Parking/Access Road Notes: |

|
| Surface Conditions: |
Wet Trail, Standing/Running Water on Trail, Snow/Ice - Frozen Granular, Mud - Minor/Avoidable, Slush |
|
| Recommended Equipment: |
Light Traction |
|
| Water Crossing Notes: |
The crossings were manageable with poles on Sabbaday Brook. No snow bridges. All open water. They took careful placement and balance and I had a boot on submerged rocks multiple times (a few inches under) but all had safe paths across. With the melting and rain coming, that probably won’t be true, at least for a few days. |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
There are a couple downed trees along the route. |
|
| Dog-Related Notes: |
I saw one dog. |
|
| Bugs: |
I saw no bugs. |
|
| Lost and Found: |
Nope. |

| Comments: |
Snow cover was low but consistently present for most of SBT. Carried snowshoes but they stayed on pack. Spikes were very helpful ascending the steep final mile or so to the ridge and on the descent. Not much ice surprisingly but that may change fast. Ran into 5 others on the ridge between Middle and North but otherwise saw no one. Beautiful day that felt like a late spring day…at least until the sun went behind a ridge about 3:45. Bring your headlamps. |
