I'm sure there have been some changes today based on the rain but writing my report based on my 12/17 hike. No snow left on Mt Major, that I could find. Significant ice on the steep area on Mt. Major trail until you get up onto the last area of slabs. Probably want microspikes here but could also find ways around. It's possible the warmth and rain washed all the ice away. I found the leaves and rocks particularly slippery, your milage may vary. No views this time around. |
