Comments
Comments: Ice/snow/spikes around 3000' and up. No snow in the woods below that. Below that, the ice was avoidable and we barbooted until maybe 1/2 mile into the softwoods. The ice in the trail was ROCK HARD. We brought our somewhat worn down "rock" spikes and they were not cutting into the ice much at all. On the way back down, I switched to my sharp Hillsounds and they were gold! One fellow that we met on the way made it down with just one microspike on one foot. I would not have wanted to be him. Highly recommend you bring your sharp spikes for the ice right now. You'll be glad you did.
