Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Success Pond Road had been washed out in spots Monday/Tuesday but had been repaired..frozen road which some spots surprised very smooth..however still spots where caution needed and a couple rut to slow down on..also lots of small rocks in some sections...

Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Ice - Black, Wet Trail, Wet/Slippery Rock, Standing/Running Water on Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable

Recommended Equipment: Light Traction 
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: First large crossing: went down stream to a narrow area and used spikes on the iced over rocks: Second crossing: spikes again but able to cross right at the trail..return trip same... 
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: 3 large blow downs to step over remain; sawed up half dozen small ones and removed lots of debris; a few areas where the footbed had been scoured clean and is now small rocks; overall not much damage..

Comments: Wanted to check out Success Pond Rd after the rain and wind Monday..also to check trail and remove blowdowns..only went to the NH/ME border so that's why submitted in the NH section..Goose Eye summit cone looked to be in crampon type condition!!
