Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: The brook crossing at the start was doable with all this rain. I briefly got my feet wet but not a big deal.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: On the descent from Dickey, saw two trees blocking trail. One was not far after the icicles ledge and the other about halfway down. First one could be removed with a saw but the one further down might require a chainsaw.

Comments
Comments: Snow is gone in the woods. Ascending Welch went well with minimal or easily avoidable ice on the ledges. There was a short icy stretch by the first ledges where Microspikes helped. There were some intermittent patches of ice where we thought of putting on spikes, but decided to maneuver around them throughout the hike. That said, we put on spikes once again on the descent off Dickey where there is an angled, open slab with ice at the top where we hung on to trees to be safe. These conditions required great care. Allow extra time to stay upright and avoid broken bones for this hike!
