Comments
Comments: Swapped to the Piper Trail from our initial plan of Champney as we thought it would be less icy. It may have been? Definitely some ice in a few precarious places on the slabs. With careful footing and some “elite athleticism” we were able to navigate our way up without spikes. Our group of 5.5 had one faceplant and one bum touch, both ice related, on the way down. A few people turned back at the slabs. If you go this route, be careful.
