| Water Crossing Notes: |
Were challenging. Ice is starting to form but not all is safe to step on. Water level was still a little high from all the rain. Managed to find a way across all the crossings but you had to look and really test what you were stepping on to make sure it would hold. |

A couple of branches down along the way. |

Had most of the conditions today. Road walk was mostly clear...some icy spots but easy enough to walk around. Didn't take long to get to the summer trailhead (20 min). Trail started out dry and then started to get frozen ice that was easy enough to use the rocks to avoid. Put grippier spikes on to do the water crossings. The water was still a little high and ice was forming but some was not safe enough to step on. By the first sharp turn it starts to be more boiler plate ice, then rock, packed snow...back and forth. The higher I got it became hard packed snow and was very nice. The last .2 was all hard packed snow. Summit was so pretty today. |
