| Comments: |
Trail conditions went from completely dry trail at the bottom, to mixed rock and thick ice as we climbed, to increasing amounts of snow. Above treeline on Osgood we were rock hopping with snow in between rocks. Sharp microspikes were essential and some might find crampons useful. Throughout the day we took our spikes on and off several times. In some sections we broke through the snowy icy crust, but snowshoes would have been overkill. |
