Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Little River crossing was extremely difficult and others turned around. It is not able to rock hop. We found some down trees and were able to get across but those won’t stay there long. The water crossings from Gale River Trail side we were able to rock hop but rocks are icy.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Someone has cleaned up some of the downed trees. There is one going up to South Twin on Twinway trail closer to hut side that is a large pine tree. Someone cut some branches off so you can climb over.

Comments
Comments: Overall a great day! Trail conditions were all over the place. Easy going until we got to Little River and spent at least an hour trying to find a safe place to cross and there just wasn’t a spot. We went up river more and found downed trees that we were able to get across an a narrower section but it won’t last long they are just loose logs.
Going up to North Twin we put spikes on about 3400ft and stayed on until last few miles on Gale River. Trails are bare and lots of ice. Once up high enough about 4000ft then it turned to some crusty hard packed snow that was welcomed!! The best trails were from North Twin to South Twin and then down to Galehead Hut. It was slow going due to conditions but not as bad as I had thought it would be.
