Comments
Comments: First full day of winter so resumed bluelining (winter WMG trails).

Most trails were barebootable. We did use light (but sharp) traction for the North Tripyramid Slide, Pine Bend Brook, and upper Scaur Ridge sections. I brought full crampons but never felt the need to switch over. Most but not all of the sketchier ice on North Slide was avoidable. There was quite a bit of good styrofoam snow on this shadowy, north-facing slope. My takeaway was that on this particular day the slide was easier than it looks from the limited viewpoints on Scaur Ridge Trail, where it appears quite vertical.

Old Skidder to Irene's Path (and Waterville Flume) to Kettles (and The Scaur) were lovely although we were happy to climb out of the shadowy & chilly flume and back into the sunlight.
