Comments
Comments: I hiked Gorge Brook out and back because the trail conditions are absolutely amazing - there is enough snow and ice to put your light traction on at the Class of 82 Memorial Bridge and leave them on until returning to that point. This made for a speedy day (which was nice after the Adams slog yesterday!!)
There were at least two dozen people (including a very happy little boy) and three dogs on Gorge Brook when I was on it. Someone wrote “Merry Xmas” in the fresh snow and it seemed to make the hikers extra festive. Though it was a bit cold and windy I had a chsnce to have a chat with a hiker named Steven (Stephen?) at the summit. Despite the fact that the summit was socked in, it was a great day to be out!
